Following the success of their award-winning sister business, Killybegs Seafood Shack, Garry and Mairead Anderson opened Anderson's Boathouse Restaurant. The upmarket seafood restaurant overlooks the harbour and specialises in freshly cooked seafood dishes made using Irish products, locally sourced whenever possible. Garry runs the kitchen alongside his experienced team, and Mairead manages front of house.
Garry’s Seafood Chowder has won awards including Donegal’s Best Chowder 2018 and Ireland’s Best Seafood Chowder 2019 and 2020. The Boathouse Restaurant won the title for Ulster’s best newcomer for 2019 in the coveted Restaurant Awards and has been featured in national media such as The Irish Times and The Irish Independent as one of Ireland’s top food destinations.
